The Tenjin Matsuri is a major festival in Osaka with a history stretching over a thousand years. Taking place over the 24th and 25th of July, there are three parts: Yomiyasai, Rikutogyo, and Funatagyo. Funatogyo starts at Tenjinbashi – Kitazume and moves down Temmabashi, another bridge over the Okawa River. Groups gather between the bridges to enjoy the water procession and the fireworks show. Each group boards the large boats with dancers, food, and drinks to celebrate the dedication to the gods. The reflections of the fireworks on the water makes for a beautiful sight.
