Odaiba Infiorata 2026

Giant ukiyo-e flower art comes to Tokyo Bay

Odaiba is set to become home to a spectacular floral artwork for three days this autumn, when Odaiba Infiorata transforms a section of Odaiba Seaside Park into a giant flower painting.

The event will recreate Utagawa Kunisada's ukiyo-e work “Momotaro and Kaidomaru's Sumo Match” using approximately 25,000 carnations and 250 kilograms of colored sand. The finished artwork will cover around 100 square meters, bringing together several distinctly Japanese cultural themes, including ukiyo-e, Momotaro, Kintaro, and sumo.

The artwork will be created as a citizen-participatory project, with 100 people invited to help lay the flower petals and colored sand under the supervision of renowned flower artist Yasuhiko Fujikawa. No previous experience with flower art is required, although participants must be in fifth grade of elementary school or above.

The finished installation will also have an impressive backdrop. From the observation deck, visitors can take in panoramic views of Tokyo Bay alongside the Tokyo Aqua Symphony fountain and the illuminated floral artwork. After dark, the combination of flowers, water, lights, and Tokyo's skyline is expected to create a particularly photogenic scene.

There will also be a separate floral artwork supporting areas affected by the Kumamoto earthquake. Anyone can participate in creating this piece on the first day, with no registration or participation fee required.
