Summer is the perfect excuse to head for the water, and one of Japan's biggest floating adventure parks is returning to Awaji Island with its largest expansion yet. Frolic Sea Adventure Park Awaji Island reopens this July, bringing more than 55 inflatable obstacles and several new attractions to the crystal-clear waters of Ohama Beach in Hyogo Prefecture.

Open for a limited time from July 10th to August 31st, the floating adventure park has become one of Japan's standout summer attractions. It was ranked second among more than 19,000 activities nationwide by Activity Japan in 2024 and has also topped Jalan's Kansai water leisure rankings.

This year's biggest addition is THE WAVE, a giant wave-shaped slide making its debut in Japan. Returning favorites include the notoriously difficult Disc Float Crossing 54, where participants attempt to cross a series of floating discs in a challenge said to have a success rate of just one in 10,000. Visitors can also test their balance on the award-winning Peakz aerial bridge, alongside trampolines, swings, diving platforms, roller crossings, seesaws, and dozens of other floating obstacles.

The park is located just offshore from Ohama Beach, a stretch of coastline recognized as one of Japan's Top 100 Beaches and awarded the highest AA water quality rating by the Ministry of the Environment. The calm, clear water makes taking an inevitable tumble part of the fun, while nearby facilities include showers, changing rooms, lockers, and shaded areas beneath rows of pine trees. Sumoto Onsen is also just minutes away, making it easy to round out the day with a relaxing soak.

Suitable for ages six and up, the park provides life jackets for all participants and has trained safety staff stationed throughout the course. Whether you're visiting with family or a group of friends, it's a fun way to cool off while enjoying one of Hyogo's most scenic beaches.
